What the research is about
Investigate the impact of dietary carbohydrate on the metabolism and tissue lipid composition of these two trout lines when fed vegetable oil based diets containing low levels of n-3 LC-PUFA.
Research conclusion
This study demonstrates that carbohydrate intake when coupled with lower dietary content of n-3 LC-PUFA (vegetable oil) promotes the inherent LC-PUFA biosynthetic pathway, regardless of the genetic background of the fish.
Assurant Innovations take
The Fish Fat Meter used to measure fish fat (lipid) in this study to confirm findings that the rate of carbohydrates with lower dietary content does indeed have direct impact on matabolism.
